Career in Telecom Sales

One of those jobs is a career in telecom sales. For the right person, telecom sales can be the opportunity to enjoy financial security again - even financial freedom and job security - during the credit crunch. There are three reasons that a telecom sales job is the right job in this economy.

1. Telecom solutions are ALWAYS in demand so you have the job security that others do not enjoy. People might cut back on paying for entertainment; they might buy fewer clothes; they might take fewer trips; they might buy lower quality food; but they will continue to use mobile phones. You know it's true for consumers. It's also true for businesses. Organizations that want to get their sales staff into the marketplace might save money by scaling down office expenses; they might stop the so called perks; but they need their sales staff to be connected. And that requires telecom solutions.

As a telecom sales consultant, your job would be to meet in-demand needs from businesses that know they require telecom solutions to survive and thrive. You would be the expert, guiding them in their decision-making to help them discover the best plan for their needs. Unlike other sales positions, like many retail positions, this is an opportunity for trusted, respected business-to-business (B2B) solution selling. With every interaction, you build job security as business clients come to trust you to help them succeed.

2. Telecom sales are commission-based, so you're not stuck earning a salary that puts a cap on your earning potential. Along with job security from the increasing trust you generate, you can also enjoy financial success. Financial success is one of those common phrases that job-seekers hear so frequently it becomes laughable. Sadly, many of those claims come out of low-paying call center jobs that demand a pound of flesh from their employees and provide little respect or actual remuneration in return.

Telecom sales, though, can offer real financial success. That's because it's not a call centre job or a retail job in which your pay depends on who answers the phone or who comes into the store. If you want ten customers, you secure ten customers. If you want a hundred customers, you secure a hundred customers. There's no income cap or ceiling - the commission you earn from your efforts is yours and if you want a lot of money you can get it.

This isn't a get-rich-quick scheme. As a commission-based sales consultant, the only limit you place on your income is yourself. If you think you'll fail, it becomes a distinct possibility. But if you are confident that you'll succeed, and earn the money you deserve by actively going into the marketplace and finding those customers, you can succeed - even far more than you imagine.

3. Telecom sales can fit into your life. Sometimes you hear about people having to take on a low-paying part-time job to supplement their current full-time one. It might be the right choice for some people who have lost the job security they once had; or perhaps a spouse has lost a job and the income needs to be made up somehow. This is where a telecom sales position is beneficial. Unlike directing traffic or restocking shelves, telecom sales can be the perfect part time solution. Because you are commission based, your time is virtually your own, which means your success is also.

I am proud to say i am in Telecom Sales,So when are you planning to join hands with me!!!!!!!!

SWOT Analysis

SWOT analysis helps you balance idealism and pragmatism, and obtain a balanced perspective of your internal strengths and weaknesses and external opportunities and threats to develop an effective strategy.

Why SWOT Analysis?

SWOT Analysis is the Key Component of Strategic Development. It can prompt actions and responses.

Successful businesses build on their strengths, correct their weaknesses and protect against internal vulnerabilities and external threats. They also keep an eye on their overall business environment and spot and exploit new opportunities faster than competitors. SWOT analysis is a tool that helps many businesses in this process.

SWOT analysis is based on the assumption that if managers can carefully review such strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, a useful strategy for ensuring organizational success will become evident to them.

Strengths

Two factors contribute to your strengths: ability and resources available.

Ability is evaluated on 3 counts:

Versatility: your ability to adapt to an ever changing environment.

Growth: your ability to maintain a continuing growth.

Markets: your ability to penetrate or create new markets.

The strength of resources has three dimensions:

Availability: your ability to obtain the resources needed.

Quality: the quality and up-to-dateness of the resources employed.

Allocation: your ability to distribute resources both effectively and efficiently.

Weaknesses

Your weaknesses are determined through failures, defeats, losses and inability to match up with the dynamic situation and rapid change. The weaknesses may be rooted in lack of managerial skills, insufficient quality, technological backwardness, inadequate systems or processes, slow deliveries, or shortage of resources. There are three possible outcomes to the analysis of your weaknesses.1

Correction of an identified defect.

Protection through cover-up and prevention strategies to reduce the exposure of your weaknesses.

Aggression to divert the attention from your weaknesses.

Opportunities

Opportunities are abundant. You must develop a formula which will help you define what comes within the ambit of an opportunity to focus on those areas and pursue those opportunities where effectiveness is possible. The formula must define product/service, target market, capabilities required and resources to be employed, returns expected and the level of risk allowed.

Weaknesses of your competitions are also opportunities for you. You can exploit them in two following ways:

Marketing warfare: attacking the weak leader's position and focusing all your efforts at that point, or making a surprise move into an uncontested area.

Collaboration: you can use your complementary strengths to establish a strategic alliance with your competitor.

Threats

External threats arise from political, economic, social, technological (PEST) forces. Technological developments may make your offerings obsolete. Market changes may result from the changes in the customer needs, competitors' moves, or demographic shifts. The political situation determines government policy and taxation structure.

Reasons to Quit Your Job

You've done everything you can to make your current job work. But, your current job is not working. These are the reasons why you might want to quit your current job. These are difficult, if not impossible, to solve. You need to look out for your best interests. Your job consumes too many hours of too many days of your life for you to stay where you are miserable. No excuses, now. If these issues exist with your job, make a plan, and change jobs.

* Your company is experiencing a downward spiral, losing customers, losing money, and rumors of possible closure, bankruptcy and failure prevail.

* Your relationship with your manager is damaged beyond repair. You have sought help to mend the boss relationship but you know it is too damaged for recovery. (Perhaps you were untrustworthy, missed work on too many days, or the manager acts like an untrustworthy jerk.) Whatever the reason, the relationship is irrecoverably damaged.

* Your life situation has changed. Perhaps you have married or had a baby, and the salary and benefits no longer support your life needs. You need to move on to better opportunities to support your family.

* Your values are at odds with the corporate culture. Perhaps your company is egalitarian and you believe in assigned parking spots for salaried employees. Your company does annual employee satisfaction surveys and you think these are a waste of time. Your company is hierarchical and you want to influence every aspect of your job. No matter where the clash is occurring, a lack of congruence with the corporate culture will destroy your attitude at work.

* You've stopped having fun and enjoying your job. No matter what changed, when you dread going to work in the morning, it's time to leave your job.

* Your company is ethically challenged. Perhaps, the managers lie to customers about the quality of the products or the day on which product will ship. You become aware that the company is stealing information from competitors. Whatever the issue, don't stay in an organization where your ethics are out of sync.

* For whatever reason, you have behaved in ways that are considered improper at work. You've missed too many days of work, slacked off on the job, failed to maintain needed skills and just generally developed the reputation of a loser. That reputation, once earned, is unlikely to change, so you might as well move on, while you have the opportunity.

* You've burned your bridges with your co-workers. Your group is not getting along in an environment that requires people to work together well. Again, at some point, the reasons don't matter; start fresh in a new job and resolve to not let this situation happen again.

* Your stress level is so high at work that it is affecting your physical or mental health and your relationships with your friends and family. Watch for the signs of burnout and if they can't be cured, move on. Read this article, Tips for Managing Stress and Change at Work for some ideas about managing work stress.

* you are unchallenged, need more responsibility, and seek opportunities that just don't exist for you in your current organization. You've explored the current and potential options, and they are limited. It's time to move on.

Ready to quit your job? You can resign from your job in a way that reinforces your professional image and keeps current employer relationships positive.

Tips for Interview

My Friend just got back from his 4th job interview in a week, and he've learned a TON throughout the whole (and at times, crazy) process.

Since we're all about sharing here, I thought I'd pass on the 10 juiciest lessons that I took away from our experiences.

Hopefully they'll be of some benefit to you as either an interviewer or interviewee somewhere down the road.

So here goes...

1. Attitude is everything. If you're smiling, excited and optimistic, you've already won half the battle. If you're cold, distant and uninterested, you've already lost 99% of the battle.

2. Be yourself. If you act like someone else and they like you, they don't actually like YOU. They like the person you're pretending to be. If you end up getting a job there, you won't be able to keep up the facade for very long anyway. Honesty and authenticity are very appealing characteristics. If both parties stay true to themselves, they'll know if they're right for each other. And in the end, that's usually what matters most.

3. Relax. Interviews are not really interviews at all. They're conversations. Treat them like conversations, and the tension will slowly dissolve. Remember: when you walk into that office, you don't have the job to begin with. In theory, you have nothing to lose. You either come out way ahead or back where you started. If you approach the situation with a "win-draw" mentality, most of the pressure will fall by the wayside.

4. Appearance counts. Before you meet people, virtually the only judgment you can make is based on aesthetics. What you're wearing matters. What they're wearing matters. How you sit, stand, shake hands, hold your pen and walk up the stairs counts. Not enormously, but enough. First impressions are huge. Also, how does the building look? Is the lobby clean and organized? Are the cubicles bunched together? Is the ceiling high or low? Does it look like a fun place to work? Does it invite you to come back?

5. Fit is crucial. All the smarts, skills and experience in the world mean nothing without the right fit. If your values aren't aligned with those of the company, you're doomed. If you like to have fun and they're always serious, don't even bother. Seriously. The more you fit in, the more you'll want to come back every day and bust your butt. If you're always at odds with your coworkers, you're going to hate your job. Simple as that.

6. Liking means more than talent. The days of standing in line and putting decals on widgets is over. People don't hire you because you're capable. They hire you because they want to work with you. If you don't get along, and get along well, the interview will probably be fruitless. Unless, of course, you applied for the "Assistant Placer of Decals on Widgets" position...

7. Be persistent. It's incredibly easy to get lazy, give up and feel sorry for yourself. People will turn you down, never call you back, and forget your name over and over again. None of that matters. What matters is perseverance. If you can't handle losing a few battles along the way, you're in for a tough road ahead. Getting a job is like winning a war. It takes patience, planning, time, effort, dedication and a little bit of luck. The chips will fall your way sooner or later. If you stay persistent, you'll at least give yourself a chance to catch them.

8. Bring an insane amount of (intelligent) questions. Nothing feels worse that not being prepared. If you don't bring loads of questions, you're not prepared. At some point, the interviewer will ask you what you want to know. For the record, you want to know everything. Be curious. Be interested. Be engrossed. Ask your question, and then get ready to listen. Don't think of what you're going to say next. Just soak up every word like a giant sponge. The more questions you ask, the more you'll get out of the experience. And as a bonus, they'll know you care deeply about their business. When you care about what they care about, you both start to align, and that's when the magic happens.

9. Focus on their needs, not yours. It's tempting to sell ourselves, to talk about how great we are, and to show off our past experiences. But guess what. No one cares. What they really care about is how your "amazingness" will translate into success for their company. Don't focus on your talents, focus on what your talents will do for them.

10. Blogging will give you a HUGE leg up. Blogging forces you to analyze, collaborate and create solutions. It also gives you plenty of ideas for improving customer experiences, businesses and relationships. These skills (among countless others) will give you confidence, poise, energy and know-how when it comes time to explain yourself. Your insights will be sharper, your thinking will be deeper, and your ability to express your opinions clearly and concisely will be much stronger. Blogging will prepare you better than any "How-To" book in the world. Trust me.

These 10 things are just the tip of the iceberg. There is so much more we can learn from each other about this process as a whole, so please feel free to share.

What are your best interviewing tips? What do you wish you would've known? For those of you who've been on both sides of the table, what have you learned from each situation?

Telecom Industry

The telecommunications industry is responsible for radio, television, voice communications, and broadband services. The growth and innovation of the telecom industry has enabled people to communicate across the globe and access endless amounts of information over the internet. Broadband services are becoming faster and easier to access with fiber optic networks and wireless services like WiMax and CDMA

India ALONG with other large developing countries, is currently at the forefront of a rapid expansion of its telecommunications infrastructure. In an attempt to speed up the process, find private finance, and introduce competition, the government has brought in many changes. If the revenue collected by the Government of India on 3G auction services is anything to go by, then the future projection for this sector looks extremely rich.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL), Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited (VSNL), Bharti Airtel, Tata Teleservices, SIFY Ltd,Tulip Telecom Limited are the major telecommunications service providers in India.

Students studying telecommunication presently have never had it better in terms of career prospects. Having said that I must add that the even i am a graduate in Electronics and Communications and i am lucky since i had a job in the same field. Its a rich field where one can really learn interesting technologies and earn handsome money.

With the introduction of 3G services and more telecom players joining, the Indian telecommunication market is at the cusp of revolution on the lines of IT.

Love your JOB, no matter what you do ...

No matter what the job, what it all comes down to is this: real satisfaction comes from finding a job that fits your personality and your talents. If you want to find a job that makes you excited to wake up every day, remember, the road to happiness starts with a single step."Choose a job you love, and you'll never work a day in your life."

When you are doing something you love to do, the time just flies. When you have a big problem, it is just a fun puzzle to figure out. If the challenge is big enough to take several days to solve, it doesn't weigh you down. You just happily find different perspectives, mentally try various solutions and finally choose one to be the answer. You may be preoccupied, but you are gladly and willingly engaged and satisfied.

You spend a substantial portion of your life at work. Why not make that time as professionally and personally rewarding and fulfilling as possible? You have nothing to lose, and potentially a great deal to gain, by spending time exploring your interests, values, and options. I believe you really, ought to want to love what you do at work.

Love the work you do and the heaven is always behind you.

One Year in Sales

Its been long time since i have written a post in my blog.Life goes on so busy. After i engaged myself with a job, most of my time seems to go for it.Morning 9.30 office, back evening by 9,Dinner,sleep,again the routine timetable next day.

I am working with one of the top Telecom Gaints in India. My job is totally into corporate sales. My main line of sales is in government and BSFI segment. When you are into corporate sales, you tend to meet top guys in an organization.Your ability to convince the top people in the organization will make you feel satisfied in your job and also improve your interpersonal skills.

For the past 1 Year i understood the real meaning of Sales and Marketing on Field, both at distinct ends. There is lot of difference between our theoretical study and on field.

Sales is not a job for everyone. It requires hard work, dedication, and a positive, outgoing attitude. It can be demanding. At times it can be frustrating - and if anyone tells you differently, they're lying.

But, sales is the perfect job for many people; and that's even truer in today's financial situation when people need job security and financial security more than ever. For the person who likes interacting with others, and who wants to enjoy a role as a trusted provider of business solutions and who wants the commensurate reward of uncapped potential, then sales is the right job.

Are you ready to enjoy greater job security? Are you ready to enjoy uncapped earning potential? And do you want job security and financial security that fits your lifestyle? Then Sales is the Best Job.

Five Steps to Manifesting Your Goals - by Gini Grey

What do you want to manifest for yourself over the next year? Here some steps to follow which will support you in achieving your goals.

1) Know What You Want: If we don't have a destination in mind, we are likely to stay where we are. Use your imagination to envision your ideal lifestyle, dream job, fulfilling relationships, balanced health or whatever your heart desires. To help motivate you towards your goal ask yourself why you want it. What will it do for you? How will you feel when you get it? Spending five minutes each day imagining having your goal and what it would look and feel like will inspire you to move towards it as well as start attracting it to you.

2) Take Action with Ease: Even with the best laid plans of action, glitches can occur, blocks can pop up and obstacles can threaten to halt our progress. When we move into resistance or try to deal with the situation from an attitude of struggle, the problems usually loom bigger than before or get lodged into place. By maintaining an attitude of trust and taking action from a place of effortless ease, obstacles miraculously melt away or new opportunities reveal themselves. Simply notice if your body is tense or your mood grumpy and take this as a signal to take a break, breath deeply or find something to laugh at as a way to move back into a state of ease.

3) Let Go of the Process and Outcome: Planning action steps toward our goals is very important, but if we get fixated on them or on the final outcome we can actually impede our own progress. Focusing too specifically on how something is supposed to occur creates tunnel vision and blocks the abundance of opportunities waiting on the outskirts. Practice being flexible and open to new ways of doing things and see how much more quickly and simply you achieve your goals.

4) Be Able to Have Your Desires: Feeling undeserving, guilty or not good enough will keep our goals from manifesting. Even if on the surface we feel great about having our desires, if we harbor any underlying doubt or limiting beliefs we will find a way to sabotage our own best interests. Use your imagination again to envision actually having what you want in your life and notice if any uncomfortable feelings or thoughts come up that say no to this. Imagine releasing them right out of your space and see them drift away into nothingness. You can learn to shift and release any blocks in order to create whatever you want in your life.

5) Maintain a State of Abundance: Like attracts like so if we want more of anything in our life we need to be in a state of abundance, feeling grateful for all the wonderful things we already have in our life and feeling optimistic about attracting more greatness into our life. If we focus on what's missing or going wrong in our life, we'll simply attract more of that, so use your imagination to inspire you into an uplifting mood in order to manifest all your goals.

All are golden words for life and to manifest our goals.Follow on,live a successful life, cheers.

Sharpening our skills - KEY 2 SUCCESS

Once upon a time a very strong woodcutter asked for a job in a timber merchant, and he got it. His salary was really good and so were the working conditions. For that reason, the woodcutter was determined to do his best.

His boss gave him an axe and showed him the area where he was supposed to fell the trees.

The First day, the woodcutter brought 15 trees.
“Congratulations,” the boss said. “Carry on with your work!”

Highly motivated by the words of his boss, the woodcutter tried harder the next day, but he only could bring 10 trees. The third day he tried even harder, but he was only able to bring 7 trees. Day after day he was bringing less and less trees.
“I must be losing my strength”, the woodcutter thought. He went to the boss and apologized, saying that he could not understand what was going on.

“When was the last time you sharpened your axe?” the Boss asked.
“Sharpen? I had no time to sharpen my axe. I have been very busy trying to cut trees…”

Most of us NEVER update our skills. We think that whatever we have learned is very much enough. But good is not good when better is expected.
Sharpening our skills from time to time is the key to success.

Client Relationship

Clients are the most precious assets for a business. Without clients, there can be no business. With poor quality of clients, the business will be poor and if you manage to get very good clients and retain their loyalty, your business will only go up and up. This all sounds very exciting. But it is not easy to get very good clients and all the more difficult to retain them. After all, whatever you do, your competition is trying the same and may use better techniques to get business. Are there any innovative approaches to client relationships?

We are talking about direct sales in this discussion and not about selling merchandise to large consumer base. For example if you are a contractor maintaining air conditioners in clients work places. Or a direct seller of computer hardware to business buyers, and all such businesses where your sales to individual clients are large, and you are in direct contact with clients.

The first need is of course client satisfaction. If the client is satisfied with your response time, after sales service and can depend on you, pricing may become secondary. All clients do not buy from a supplier whose sales at the lowest price. If your product cost is a small percentage of clients total expense or if your product is essential for your clients, you are onto something good. How to retain such clients despite all the competition? What are the other factors than client satisfaction?

Relationship is one such other major factor. Do you relate with your clients only professionally, or are very good friends? Both these extremes can hurt. For a long-term business relationship, good friendship is not good for health of your business. Any problem in the personal friendship will directly affect your business. What if you relate to your clients mechanically in a professional style totally devoid of personal touch? You know the answer yourself.

What is needed is a relationship that does not border on personal friendships, but crosses mechanical approach. A fine balance between personal and professional.

Have good sales!

Public Social Networks

As a Marketing person Public social contacts is very essential to make good sales and achieve company targets.

External public social networking services, such as Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, and Friendster, can be valuable sales, marketing, and support tools. These services comprise extensive networks of users who are self-organized into groups and communities.

Users establish connections directly with other users to form a personal friends network. Users also join groups and communities that are organized around attributes such as products, lifestyles, entertainment, institutions, politics, and geographic locations.

Social network users also build their own extensive demographic profiles by connecting to dozens or hundreds of affinity groups, not just connecting to other users. This self-segmentation phenomenon is why social networks present marketers and advertisers with such a potentially lucrative audience for promoting goods and services.

There are several ways an organization can benefit from using public social networks, including:

* HR recruiting
* Product marketing
* Services outreach
* Promotional application
* Market intelligence
* Professional networking

Companies are exploiting public social networking sites for valid business purposes. However, a lack of enterprise-class controls makes management of users akin to herding cats. By adopting strong policies for business use of public social networks, small and midsize businesses can maximize value and safeguard against inappropriate connections between personal and business contacts.
